Does the deferred dowry lapse for the husband if the wife, who has not borne children, dies? And to whom is the dowry given if it is due? And is the husband among the heirs? And is it permissible for the husband to dispose of the dowry in a charitable act without the knowledge of the wife's family?

The deferred dower (mu'akhkhar al-sadaq), upon the wife's death, must be paid to her heirs and becomes part of her estate, unless it was deferred until a time that has not yet arrived, in which case it must be paid when that time comes. The husband is among the heirs and is entitled to half of the inheritance if she has no child. The husband is not permitted to use the deferred dower for charitable work without the consent of all the heirs. However, he may donate his own share, and other adult heirs may also donate their shares for a charitable act on her behalf.
