Is it considered forbidden for a suitor to go out with his fiancée to a public place in the presence of his sister or her sister, with the family's knowledge, by analogy with the fact that the gathering of several men with a woman or several women with a man in one place is not considered a private seclusion (khalwa)?

Scholars differed concerning the negation of khalwa (private seclusion) when a woman is present with more than one man, or a man with more than one woman. The preponderant view is that khalwa is negated when there is no fear of fitna (temptation/strife). However, the outing of a suitor with his fiancée in the presence of his sister or her sister, even if it does not constitute a forbidden khalwa, does not mean it is absolutely permissible. This is because anything that leads to fitna is prohibited. Therefore, it is not permissible for the suitor to go out with his fiancée, or to speak with her, without a valid need and the assurance that there is no fitna.
