What are the rulings concerning prostatic fluid (madhy), urethral discharge (wady), and semen (many), and how can one differentiate between them, especially if the cause of the fluid discharged is unknown, and do the types of lust that lead to the emission of semen differ?
A woman is not required to perform ghusl (ritual bath) unless she is certain that the fluid is semen (mani). If she is unsure whether it is semen or pre-seminal fluid (madhiy), she can apply the ruling of madhiy, meaning she does not have to perform ghusl but only wash it off, as this is easier for her, especially if she suffers from obsessive doubts (waswasa).
Semen is recognized by a smell resembling palm spathe, and by pleasure upon its emission followed by a feeling of weakness.
As for madhiy, it is a thin, clear, sticky white fluid that is discharged when desire is aroused, not with desire itself or with a gush, and it is not followed by weakness.
If the fluid is not semen, ghusl is not obligatory due to it. Washing off the impurity and performing wudu (ablution) are sufficient. It is advisable to disregard obsessive doubts.
