Is it permissible for a girl to marry her father's maternal uncle?

It is not permissible for a girl to marry her father's maternal uncle (khal), because he is considered her maternal uncle and one of her mahrams (unmarriageable kin). Allah Almighty says: "Prohibited to you are your mothers, your daughters, your sisters, your paternal aunts, your maternal aunts, the daughters of your brother, and the daughters of your sister." Scholars have explicitly stated that the father's maternal uncle is considered a maternal uncle to his child.
