Is what the father did by dividing his land among his children, with the male receiving the share of two females, and depriving his wife of inheritance, considered an invalid gift for which there is sin, and what should the heirs do after his death?

It is permissible for a father to gift land to his children during his lifetime, as long as he is not suffering from a life-threatening illness. The gift is completed upon the children taking possession of the land.

The father must be fair among his children in the gift, and he is not obliged to give anything to his wife. Scholars have differed on the manner of fairness: some hold that the male should receive a share equal to that of two females, while others maintain equality between male and female, which is the more evident opinion due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Be fair among your children in giving gifts."
