What is the ruling on invoking blessings upon the Prophet with the wording: "O Allah, bless the radiant star, the Most Holy Spirit, the Muhammadan light, and all his states, a luminous, spiritual blessing that extends from the realms of Malakut and Jabarut to the realm of Mulk, in the number of the effusions of the light of prophethood in the loins of the noble and pure, and the family, and the righteous companions, in the number of every king, prophet, saint, and worshipper who performed acts of obedience to Allah during the hours of the night and ends of the day, a blessing by which You perpetuate the light of our master Muhammad within us, and by which You make us absent from ourselves, and make us perish in his love, and upon his family grant abundant peace"?

Prayers upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, have established, transmitted formulas, some of which were narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim from Abu Humayd Al-Sa'idi, Ka'b bin Ujrah, and Abu Mas'ud Al-Ansari.

It is permissible to pray upon him with any wording that conveys the meaning outside of prayer. However, within prayer, one should adhere to the transmitted formulas, and the best and most complete of these is the Ibrahimi prayer in the last tashahhud.

One must be cautious of following strange sayings or dreams regarding praying upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Some common phrases that describe prayer as "luminous and spiritual, extending from the realms of Malakut and Jabarut" or "through it, we lose ourselves and are annihilated in his love" are weak statements or suggestive of false meanings based on the principles of philosophers, and they are not from the religion of the followers of faiths.
