Did Yusuf (peace be upon him) know that the dreams he interpreted—which were revelations from God—would come true?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Allah Almighty mentioned in the Holy Qur’an Joseph’s visions which he interpreted, namely the vision of the two prison companions and the vision of the king. Joseph was certain that what the vision indicated would come to pass, and this is evidenced by his saying to his two companions: “The matter about which you inquired has been decreed.”

Some scholars believe that the word “thought” (ظن) in His saying: “And he said to the one of the two whom he thought would be saved” means certainty, as Joseph did not doubt the correctness of his interpretation of the vision.
