Is it permissible to believe in interpreters of dreams?
Allah Almighty may inspire some of His servants with the interpretation of dreams (visions), like Yusuf (Joseph), peace be upon him. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, also interpreted what he saw and what was presented to him. Some of the early Muslims, such as Ibn Sirin, were renowned for interpreting visions. Therefore, there is no harm in believing someone known for their truthfulness, piety, and accuracy in interpretation. However, no legal rulings should be derived from visions, nor should future matters be built upon them. Rather, they are merely glad tidings to be considered, for a righteous vision brings joy but does not deceive.
