What is the ruling on believing in the interpretation of a dream vision?

It is permissible to believe a dream interpreter known for their uprightness and truthfulness, especially if it is the dream of a righteous believer, because their dreams rarely lie. The dream of a disbeliever or a wicked person may sometimes come true, as happened in the story of Joseph, peace be upon him. However, a dream does not form the basis of a Sharia ruling; it is merely good tidings for its beholder.
