What is the ruling on a wife remaining in her family's home for nearly a month after her husband took her there in response to her informing her family about the insults and abuse she was receiving from her husband's mother?

Among the most important things brought by religion are noble morals, such as honoring the elderly and showing kindness to relatives. Therefore, the wife's mother should be honored and dealt with wisely and patiently. A wise woman wins her husband's affection by honoring his mother and enduring her harm. If enduring her harm becomes impossible, the wife has the right to demand a separate home if the husband is capable, and he must comply. The wife is entitled to her maintenance for the duration of her stay in her family's home, unless she leaves without the husband's permission or refuses to return. It is advised to involve righteous people for reconciliation, and if that does not work, she may refer her case to the Sharia judge.
