Is it permissible to download clips of the Holy Quran or some educational lessons from YouTube, especially if an internet connection is not always available, given that reciters exclusively upload their recitations to YouTube?

The relied-upon fatwa [legal opinion] according to us is that it is impermissible to download programs and video clips from websites that do not permit their download. There is no distinction between clips of the Qur’an or scholarly lessons in this regard. However, some scholars permit downloading them for personal use and not for earning money. There is no blame upon someone who acts upon this opinion when there is a need.
