Is a resident sinful if he refrains from participating in the cleaning and garbage disposal service agreed upon by the residents of a building, preferring to do it himself?

The agreement among the building residents concerning cleanliness and garbage disposal for a monthly fee is considered a lease contract. This contract is binding if it specifies a fixed duration and cannot be terminated before its expiry. If the contract is on a monthly basis (each month for a certain amount without a fixed duration), it is valid according to the Malikis, Hanafis, and some Hanbalis, and either party may terminate it at any time. Therefore, if the contract is on a monthly basis or its fixed term has expired, you are permitted to withdraw from it, although your continued participation is closer to what is right and more conducive to harmony and affection.
