Is it permissible for a woman whose husband has died to travel for Hajj during her iddah (waiting period), knowing that she has already performed Hajjat al-Islam (the obligatory Hajj)?

A woman whose husband has passed away must observe the iddah (waiting period) and ihdad (mourning) for a period of four months and ten days, as Allah Almighty says: (And those of you who die and leave wives behind them, they (the wives) shall wait (as regards their marriage) for four months and ten days.) Al-Baqarah/234. During this period, she is not permitted to leave her home except out of necessity during the day or extreme need at night. She is not allowed to go for Hajj during the iddah period, even if it is an obligatory Hajj, because Hajj does not become void and can be performed at a later time, whereas the iddah period would be missed. Ibn Qudamah said: "A woman observing iddah for death is not permitted to go for Hajj."
