Should a girl associate with a suitor who rejects her hijab?
The injunction to piety () is the best of this world and the afterlife. It is not permissible for a believer to build up his worldly life while destroying his hereafter.
One is commanded to choose a righteous spouse, who possesses good character and religious commitment. A man who prevents his wife from wearing the is not a man of good character or religious commitment; rather, he is lax regarding major sins and destructive acts. It is not permissible for a guardian to marry off his ward except to a pious and righteous man.
If a suitor comes forward who is not satisfactory in his religious commitment and character, it is not obligatory to marry him off. Allah will compensate those who reject him. Therefore, it is not advisable to accept this suitor.
