Is it conceivable that all Christians, who number in the billions, will enter Hellfire? And what is the wisdom behind such enormous numbers of people—like Christians, Jews, and pagans—entering Hell?

The answer clarifies the reason for the multitude of inhabitants of Hellfire and the scarcity of inhabitants of Paradise, explaining that Allah does not punish anyone before His call reaches them.

It attributes the large number of Hellfire inhabitants to the scarcity of those who respond to the prophets and the abundance of those who disbelieve in them, as well as the impurity of the faith of many who do respond.

It mentions that the majority of humankind are dwellers of Hellfire, and that the followers of the prophets are few. It also states that all those who are not followers of the prophets will be in Hellfire, except for those whom the call did not reach or who did not understand it.

It points out that many of those who ascribe themselves to abrogated or altered scriptures are among the people of Hellfire, as are hypocrites, and people of innovation and misguidance who were tempted by doubts.

It adds that many of those who were tempted by forbidden desires may enter Hellfire. It further states that the saved sect is that which adheres to what the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and his companions were upon, outwardly and inwardly, and who were safe from the temptation of desires and doubts. These are very few, especially in later times.
