Is it permissible to borrow money to perform the Hajj obligation while accompanying a sick mother, knowing that a portion of the borrowed money is an end-of-service bonus from working in a hotel?
If the mother is able to perform Hajj and its means are facilitated, then she must perform it if she has not done so before. A must accompany her, and it is preferable that it be her son. It is permissible for him to take a loan to accompany her, provided it is not an interest-based loan.
If the mother is unable to perform Hajj due to illness or old age, she may appoint someone to perform Hajj on her behalf, and some scholars have made inabah (appointing a proxy) obligatory in this case.
As for the financial reward from the workplace, there is no objection to it. However, working in hotels involves a degree of doubt (shubhah). It is not permissible to work in hotels where forbidden activities predominantly occur. As for hotels where such activities are rare, it is permissible to work in permissible roles, though it is preferable to avoid them altogether.
