We advise you to make abundant supplications (Du'a) and remembrance of Allah (Dhikr), for supplication removes harm, and remembrance of Allah reassures the heart. Allah Almighty says: "Is not He [better than all others] who responds to the distressed one when he calls upon Him and removes evil?" and "Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured."

A woman is forbidden, according to Islamic law, from seeking divorce without a valid شرعي excuse, based on the saying of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: "Any woman who asks her husband for divorce without any [valid] reason, the scent of Paradise will be forbidden to her."

However, if you detest staying with him and fear falling short in fulfilling his rights, then it is permissible for you to seek Khul' (divorce at the wife's instance, usually by returning the dower).

Patience and remaining under the husband's marital authority are preferable if possible, especially with the presence of a child.

If separation becomes inevitable, assistance can be sought from wise family members or competent authorities such as the Sharia court or Islamic centers.
