What is the ruling on the shortcomings of scholars – if any – regarding what is happening in Jerusalem and its environs, and will they be held accountable for that on the Day of Resurrection? And is it true that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is informed of what Muslims do, so he grieves over evil and rejoices over good?

The trials and tribulations Muslims are experiencing obligate scholars to fulfill their duty towards the Ummah by rectifying it and preparing it to face its enemies. They are required to clarify the truth and not conceal it, and whoever among them falters is sinful. As for the presentation of deeds to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, it has been mentioned in a weak hadith with the wording: "My life is good for you; you relate [hadith] and [hadith] is related to you. And my death is good for you; your deeds are presented to me. Whatever good I see, I praise Allah for it, and whatever evil I see, I seek forgiveness for you." It has also been authentically reported that Allah has angels who roam the earth and convey the salutations of his Ummah to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
