Is sincere repentance, remorse, and the resolve not to return to a bad deed sufficient to lift an illness that resulted from it, the consequences of which were not known at first?

Repentance erases sins, and through it, Allah transforms evil deeds into good ones for those who are sincere in their repentance. The noble verses mention the vastness of Allah's mercy towards the repentant and His love for them. They also state that piety and turning to Allah are reasons for His support, deliverance from afflictions, and happiness in this world and the Hereafter, unlike turning away from His remembrance, which causes misery and torment. As for the mentioned illness, it is not possible to definitively assert that one will be cured simply by repenting; rather, that matter is with Allah. It remains important to emphasize the necessity of abandoning the forbidden act for repentance to be valid, as persisting in it while claiming repentance is mocking Allah.
