Is it permissible to supplicate against a woman who has cursed, slandered, and defamed another? And is that considered the supplication of one who has been wronged? And is this wife entitled to commit these acts under the pretext of preserving her husband, even if it involves lying and defamation? And is it permissible to supplicate for the return of this person to marry her after communication with him has been cut off?

The relationship of love between young men and women is not sanctioned by Islamic law. If a heart-felt attachment occurs between a man and a woman, the lawful path for them is marriage. Otherwise, they must turn away from this attachment. What transpired between the questioner and this man in terms of conversation or correspondence is contrary to Islamic law. The questioner has done well by severing this relationship, and her duty is to remain steadfast in that. If the man wishes to marry her, there is no impediment if he is capable. As for supplicating against the man's wife and her mother, it is permissible to the extent of the injustice if they wronged the questioner, but patience is more virtuous. The questioner's supplication that the man become her husband is permissible, but it is more appropriate to ask Allah to grant her a righteous husband in general.
