What should a son do if his father orders him to do something that is not predominantly considered permissible or impermissible, such as helping him carry a TV table that will be used for both good and bad?

The ruling on carrying a television set is measured by the extent of its use. If the father uses it only for permissible things, then there is no harm in helping him carry it; rather, that is an act of filial piety and obedience to the father. However, if he uses it for forbidden things, then it is not permissible to help him, due to the Almighty's saying: (And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression). And it is not permissible to obey him in that, due to the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: (There is no obedience in sin; obedience is only in what is right). In such a case, he should be advised gently and wisely. If he uses it for both permissible and forbidden things, then there is no harm in helping him, as long as it is not known that he will watch something forbidden on it at that time.
