Is the oath mentioned in the Algerian national anthem, where it says: "By the devastating, annihilating turunths, and the pure, unsullied blood, and the shining, fluttering banners on the towering, lofty mountains," considered polytheism (shirk) with Allah, and does it expel one from the fold of Islam? Should children be prevented from attending its recitation in schools, and how should this issue be handled?

We have discussed that swearing by a created being is polytheism (shirk), and it is forbidden to recite it, and it is not permissible to compel students to do so. This type of polytheism is minor shirk, which, by scholarly consensus, does not expel its perpetrator from the fold of Islam, similar to swearing by other than Allah or saying, "What Allah wills and you will." The way to deal with it is by spreading awareness, explaining monotheism (Tawhid), and forbidding minor shirk and evil.
