What is the method of treatment with the Quran for bone cancer, and is it necessary to bathe with water over which Quranic verses have been recited daily for 21 days?

It is permissible, according to some scholars, to write the Qur'an with saffron or pure ink, then for the afflicted person to bathe with it and drink from it. A group of the Salaf did this, and it was affirmed by Al-Hasan Al-Basri, Mujahid, Abu Qilabah, and Al-Awza'i. Al-Nawawi mentioned that the implication of the Shafi'i madhhab is that it is not forbidden. It is preferable to limit it to drinking and to avoid bathing, for fear of exposing the Qur'anic water to disrespect. It is not obligatory to do this, nor are specific days for it to be determined, except with a legal proof.
