Is it permissible to marry someone who does not pray, knowing that the suitor promised to commit and pray after marriage, and that I am 43 years old and no religious man has proposed to me?

Abandoning prayer is one of the gravest sins, and some scholars even consider it an act of disbelief (kufr). It is impermissible for a Muslim woman to marry someone who abandons prayer, whether he denies its obligation or leaves it out of laziness, due to his transgression, unless he repents and establishes prayer. His promise to commit after marriage is not sufficient; rather, he must first repent and commit to prayer.
