Is it permissible for a woman to return from Hajj accompanied by other women without a mahram, when her mahram has already returned?

Scholars differed regarding the permissibility of a woman traveling without a mahram but with a trustworthy company. The Hanbalis and Zahiris held it impermissible, based on the hadith: "It is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to travel for a day's journey except with a mahram."

The majority (Hanafis, Malikis, and Shafi'is) held it permissible if there is a trustworthy company, citing the hadith: "You will surely see the camel litter traveling from Al-Hira until it circumambulates the Kaaba, fearing no one but Allah," and arguing that the reason for the prohibition is fear, which is removed by the presence of trustworthy company.

The most preponderant view is that it is not permissible for a woman to travel without a mahram, even if there is trustworthy company, except in cases of necessity, or a need that is treated as necessity, or close to it. This includes her travel to perform the obligatory Hajj.
