Is it obligatory to restart the expiatory fasting after committing the act that was abstained from on a day when there was no fasting, knowing that the fasting was intermittent?

What necessitates the expiation is breaking an oath made to Allah Almighty. The expiation does not repeat with repeated breaches unless a phrase indicating repetition was uttered. The expiation is feeding ten poor people or clothing them. Fasting is not sufficient if one is able to feed. If you are unable to feed and therefore fast, there is no blame upon you, and your obligation is fulfilled. Consecutive fasting is not required for the expiation of an oath according to the Shafi'i and Maliki schools. If you said, "If I do such and such, then I owe such and such acts of worship," and then you broke your promise, the expiation of an oath is sufficient for you.
