How much is the cutting threshold for theft—three dirhams or a quarter of a dinar—equivalent to in Qatari Riyals?

Scholars differed on the valuation of the niṣāb for theft:

1. Hanafis and one narration from the Hanbalis: The niṣāb for theft is ten dirhams, whether the stolen item is gold, silver, or anything else. 2. Malikis and one narration from the Hanbalis: The niṣāb is a quarter legitimate dinar of gold or three legitimate dirhams of silver, or their equivalent, and both are considered independent origins. 3. Shafi'is: The niṣāb is a quarter dinar of gold, whether the stolen item is gold (in weight and value) or something else (in value).

The implementation of the ḥadd (prescribed punishment) is exclusively the prerogative of the legitimate ruler.
