Should a woman who committed a grave sin for five years and repented be concealed, knowing that her husband was aware that she sometimes initiated it, or should her family be informed? And what is the proper action to take regarding the one who committed the grave sin with her?

If a wife commits adultery and repents, the husband should keep her, treat her well, and conceal her sin, while also protecting her from causes of temptation, obliging her to wear proper attire (hijab), and avoiding unlawful mixing (ikhtilat). One must be cautious not to accuse anyone of indecency without clear proof or confession. Merely accusing a woman necessitates the penalty for slander (qadhf), which is eighty lashes, based on Allah’s Almighty saying: {And those who accuse chaste women and then do not produce four witnesses - lash them with eighty lashes and never accept from them a testimony, and those are the defiantly disobedient}.
