The husband's spending on his wife and children is obligatory. If he fails to do so despite his ability, he is sinful. The wife should advise him wisely so that he repents for his shortcomings. However, if he fulfills his duty, he has the right to dispose of his money as he wishes. If extravagance appears from him, she should advise him gently and kindly.
