Does divorce occur by the words "By divorce, do not outrun me" within oneself without uttering them, and is commencing the race after this whisper considered a genuine intention for divorce?

Thinking about divorce (hadith (definition) al-nafs bi al-talaq (definition)) has no value, and divorce does not occur by it, whether it preceded you or not, because of the Messenger of Allah's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: "Indeed, Allah has forgiven my Ummah for what they speak to themselves about, as long as they do not act upon it or speak of it." As for uttering the divorce (al-talaffuz bi al-talaq), it does not occur unless it was preceded by your intention.
