The answer

It is recommended to turn to Allah with supplication and humility, for He answers the distressed and removes evil. As for the husband, if he is corrupt and does not abide by Allah's commands, it is desirable to separate from him through divorce () or annulment ('), because Islamic law (Shari'a) enjoined choosing a husband who possesses faith and good character. It also clarifies that opening the Qur'an to seek guidance (khira) has no basis in Islamic law, and what is prescribed is the legitimate Istikhara (prayer for guidance). It is forbidden for a woman to travel without her husband's permission, and this may complicate the problem. Efforts should be made to persuade the husband to divorce, seeking assistance from those who hold a respected position with him; otherwise, the matter should be referred to the court.
