The husband's statement, "I am not your husband," is not an explicit divorce ( sareeh); rather, it is an implicit divorce (kinayah) by which divorce occurs if the husband intended it. So, if he intended divorce by it, it takes effect; but if he did not intend it, it does not take effect. This statement is objectionable and reprehensible, and he must repent from it.
