The answer

It is the wife's right to have a suitable independent dwelling. What is meant by this is that she should have a suitable and separate part of the house with its facilities. If there are multiple dwellings in the house, and the wife refuses to live with her co-wife or any of the husband's family, she is not entitled to demand another house if the husband provides her with a separate dwelling with its own facilities and a lock.

The husband may house his wife in a suitable independent dwelling, even if it is next to his family. The wife is not entitled to refuse unless she is harmed by their proximity. The husband should combine honoring his parents with treating his wife well and fulfilling her rights. Therefore, it is not permissible for him to honor his parents by wronging his wife.
