Is it permissible to listen to the sounds of sexual intercourse between others with the intention of sexual arousal towards one's wife, if there is assurance against temptation (fitna)?

The Sunnah (definition) indicates that figurative zina (adultery/fornication) includes the zina of the ears by listening, as in the Hadith (definition): "And the ears, their zina is listening." Al-Mubarakpuri explained listening as listening to the words of the adulteress, or the intermediary, or the voice of a non-mahram (definition) woman, provided there is lust. Any listening that arouses lust is forbidden, and it is not permissible to do so to seek arousal during marital intimacy. It is advised to use permissible means, such as foreplay.
