The answer

If the divorce is revocable (first or second) and without compensation, then the wife's maintenance and lodging are the responsibility of the divorcer during the waiting period, based on the Almighty's saying: "Lodge them where you dwell, according to your means." As for irrevocable divorce, scholars have differed concerning it; some obligated maintenance and lodging, some obligated lodging only, and some obligated neither, which is the more apparent view, citing what was narrated from Fatimah bint Qays, may Allah be pleased with her, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did not obligate maintenance or lodging for her in her irrevocable divorce.
