Is infertility considered a sufficient reason for divorce in Islamic jurisprudence, and what is the opinion of the madhahib or Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah on this?

The majority of jurists agree that infertility is not a defect that justifies the option of annulling the marriage contract. Ibn Qudamah said: "We do not know of any disagreement on this matter except from Al-Hasan (definition)." We have previously explained that a husband should not rush to divorce his righteous wife due to a lack of progeny; rather, he should keep her and marry a fertile woman in addition to her.
