It is not permissible for a man to allow his wife to go out adorned or display her beauty in front of non- men. He must prevent her from doing so and from committing other forbidden acts, by virtue of his guardianship. He may prevent her from visiting her family if a harm results from it. If he is unable to reform her after expending effort, he may restrict her and not divorce her until she forfeits her dower or part of it to him.
