The answer

The relationship of love and frequent meetings between a man and a non- woman is a danger that can lead to greater evils, because Islam has forbidden these relationships as they are from the customs of pre-Islamic ignorance (Jahiliyyah), and because they block the means to fitan (trials/temptations) and fahish (indecencies). Therefore, it is not permissible to be alone with a non-mahram woman, or to touch her, embrace her, or kiss her. What is obligatory is repentance and for each of you to avoid the other until the legal marriage contract is concluded, because engagement does not make her permissible for you. One should hasten to marriage, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "We have not seen for two who love each other anything better than marriage."
