Is the officiant's statement correct regarding the end of the divorced wife's review period after 60 days, or does the waiting period (iddah) end after three menstrual cycles?

If you divorce your wife once, or if the total number of divorces you have issued to her does not reach three, and you take her back before the expiry of her 'iddah (definition) (waiting period) – which is her purification from the third menstruation after the divorce, or her delivery of a child, or the passage of three months for a woman who does not menstruate – then she returns to your marital bond. Informing the marriage registrar (ma’dhoun) is only necessary for documentation. However, if you do not take her back until her 'iddah expires, then she becomes irrevocably separated from you, and she is not lawful for you unless through a new marriage contract and a new dowry.
