Must the wife's father bring the two witnesses for the telephonic marriage contract, or can the husband bring them?
You did well to prevent the man from communicating before the marriage contract, as he is a stranger to you. Among the conditions for the validity of marriage are the presence of two just witnesses at the contracting session. Documenting the contract does not affect its validity, but it is preferable for preserving rights. It is advisable to take your time before agreeing to marriage and to seek a way to inquire about the young man from trustworthy individuals who know him. Then, perform (seeking guidance from Allah). It is not permissible to conduct the marriage contract over the phone. Your father can appoint someone to perform the contract for you in the suitor's country, or the suitor can appoint someone to contract on his behalf with your guardian.
