What are the effects of seclusion (khalwa) or consummation of marriage (dukhul) with a woman upon whom the marriage contract has been concluded (ma‘qud ‘alayha) after the marriage contract, and what are the jurisprudential references for that?

Entering into marriage with the wife entails the confirmation of the mahr (dowry), the establishment of the iddah (definition) (waiting period) if the husband divorces her, and the establishment of ihsan (chastity/being married) which is a condition for the stoning of the fornicator. It also permits a thrice-divorced woman to return to her first husband after being divorced by her new husband and completing her iddah. Furthermore, the wife's daughter becomes unlawful (to marry). As for khalwah (private seclusion) without actual entry, many scholars have held that it takes the ruling of actual entry in some matters, such as the confirmation of the mahr and the establishment of the iddah.
