The suitor is a stranger to his fiancée, so it is not permissible to converse with her without need. If the fiancée has spoken about matters of intimacy and then regretted it and her righteousness became apparent, then there is no objection to marrying her. However, if she is suspicious, it is better to leave her. A father is not permitted to force his son to marry someone he does not desire. Just as a father does not compel his son to eat what he does not crave, marriage is even more paramount, because companionship with someone one is not comfortable with is harmful. If the father refuses his son's marriage to a specific girl for a legitimate Sharia (definition) reason, then the son must obey him. However, if the refusal is without a legitimate reason, then obedience is not obligatory, and the son is not considered disobedient by disobeying, unless the son wishes to obey him, in which case there is no harm.
