The answer

If the legitimate contract was concluded with offer and acceptance between you and the father of the Kitabiyyah (a woman from the People of the Book) in the presence of two witnesses, then your marriage is valid even if it has not been officially documented. We advise you to uphold the marriage honorably, document the contract, and preserve rights, and strive to invite her to Islam. As long as the pregnancy occurred after a valid contract, the lineage is attributed to you, and the child follows your religion. It is not permissible for you to request an abortion except out of necessity. You are responsible for this fetus, and you must exert your utmost effort to preserve its religion and character.
