What is the ruling on the groom kissing his bride before consummation, unbeknownst to her family or without their consent, even if she consents? Is it permissible to kiss her in their presence and with the guardian's consent? And does the guardian have the right to prevent the suitor from kissing, whether or not the dowry has been paid?

The woman who has had her marriage contract solemnized is considered the wife of the man who contracted the marriage. Thus, it is permissible for him to kiss her, be alone with her (khulwa), and enjoy her, if she consents, regardless of whether her family agrees or not. However, custom and the feelings of the family should be taken into consideration, so it is not appropriate to kiss her in front of them. The guardian has the right to prevent the husband from enjoying her until he pays the immediate (due) portion of the dowry (mahr al-hal). The woman also has the right to refuse before receiving the immediate portion of the dowry.
