Is a husband entitled to bring his second wife into the first wife's home without her permission, and what is the evidence for this from the Book or the Sunnah?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
The husband is not allowed to bring his second wife into the first wife's house unless the first wife gives her permission and consent, especially in her absence, as this could cause harm and give the impression of enjoying oneself in her house.
If either wife feels uncomfortable meeting the other, the husband is not permitted to force her to do so. It is preferable for the wife to maintain a good relationship with her co-wife, and to communicate with her, even if minimally, because estrangement between them could lead to estrangement among the children, which would affect them in their worldly life and their religion.
