Is polygyny obligatory?

The basic principle concerning polygyny is its permissibility, provided there is financial and physical capability and justice among the wives. It may become obligatory if a man needs more than one wife to achieve chastity. If one wife does not suffice him to prevent him from committing zina, then polygyny becomes obligatory.
