Is it permissible for a husband and wife who are no longer desirous of each other to mutually waive conjugal relations and the wife's right to maintenance, and for the husband to waive his right to be consulted regarding her leaving the house, while preserving chastity and reputation, for the sake of maintaining the family and preventing the dispersion of their children?

It is permissible for spouses to reconcile by waiving some rights related to maintenance and marital relations, with their mutual consent. It is also permissible for the husband to give his wife permission to go out and speak with others without seeking his permission each time, provided that this does not involve anything forbidden (haram (definition)). The husband must obligate his wife to observe the rights of Allah and prevent her from engaging in corruption. Both of them have the right to revoke what they have waived and reclaim their rights.
