The answer

A woman's learning and working in gynecology and obstetrics is a communal obligation (fard kifaya). If the wife stipulates completing her studies before marriage, then this condition must be fulfilled, for the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The conditions most worthy of fulfillment are those by which you make intimacy lawful." This is on condition that she adheres to the regulations, such as wearing the , lowering her gaze, and avoiding free mixing. Likewise, her work must be regulated by the Sharia. If this is possible, then she must not be prevented; otherwise, she must refrain from studying if it leads to committing disobedience.
