Is it permissible to use a pirated (cracked) Photoshop program to work with it and save up its price, then buy two original copies: one for the period of illegal use, and the other for the future period, and will the money earned from this work be lawful?
We affirm that intellectual property rights and similar intangible rights are protected and owned by their proprietors. It is impermissible to infringe upon them. Therefore, the use of pirated (cracked) software is absolutely prohibited. As for money earned through work with pirated software, it is the rightful property of the earner and permissible for him. However, he incurs sin by using the pirated version, and he must compensate the software proprietors for the benefits they have lost. It is permissible to adopt the view of some scholars who permit the use of software for personal benefit for those in need, and this is not considered blameworthy pursuit of concessions.
