What are the rulings regarding the waiting period for a woman who has been irrevocably divorced and ransomed herself with money due to her husband's infertility, and is it permissible for her to go to work during this period given her ability to do without it?

A woman who has sought divorce (khul') is obliged to remain in the marital home and observe her waiting period (iddah (definition)) there, just like other divorced women, although there is a difference of opinion among scholars on this matter. The general rule is that a woman observing iddah should not leave her home during the day except out of necessity, nor at night except out of dire need. If she does not need to work, she should remain in her home; this is more cautious and more absolving of responsibility.
